The Waldkliniken Eisenberg in Thuringia is the first municipal hospital to offer the quality of stay of a star hotel - for patients of all health insurance companies. The Waldkliniken offer many concepts that have never been seen before in Germany's clinic landscape. Only 13 of the 246 patient beds are for private patients. The entire concept of the building, the rooms, the location in the middle of the forest, the innovative care concept and the hotel standard is intended to improve healing.

The Waldkliniken Eisenberg in Thuringia are the only university-based orthopedics in Thuringia. With the professorship for orthopedics at the University Hospital Jena (UKJ) and the headquarters of the “German Center for Orthopedics”, it enjoys an excellent national and international reputation.

The world-famous Milanese architect and designer Matteo Thun, who designs luxury hotels around the world, was brought in for the extraordinary circular building.
